Under a memorandum of understanding signed this week in Korea, Sikorsky will explore the potential of non-financial assistance to Washington Times Aviation in its effort to establish an S-61 helicopter service and component manufacturing center in Kimpo, South Korea.
The S-61 is no longer manufactured by Sikorsky. The company ceased making the S-61 more than 20 years ago.
Sikorsky is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE:UTX), of Hartford, Conn., which provides a broad range of high-technology products and support services to the aerospace and building systems industries.
