The company had maintained six separate leased facilities in Orange, West Haven and Stratford, Conn., totaling approximately 100,000 sq. ft. The new Quarry Road facility, constructed by R.D. Scinto Enterprises, enables the consolidation of five of the units and will result in all departments, except field maintenance, being housed under a single roof.
HSI is a customer service organization that provides worldwide aftermarket support to commercial and foreign military helicopter operators. "The new facility provides a more modern and functional environment for our employees," said David Adler, President, HSI, and Senior Vice President, Sikorsky Worldwide Customer Service. "It allows HSI to better accommodate planned business growth by having virtually the entire workforce located in the same building."
HSI provides a complete range of aftermarket services for Sikorsky's S-61, international S-70 BLACK HAWK, and S-76 helicopters, and also operates as an authorized service center for Agusta, Bell Helicopter Textron, Robinson Helicopter and Schweizer Aircraft Corporation. In addition to its OEM relationship with Sikorsky, HSI distributes products and services for several manufacturers, including General Electric Aircraft Engines'' T-700 and T-58 lines. Sikorsky acquired HSI in 1998.
